About The Housepet Housevet, LLC
and What Makes us Special

We help you be the best pet parent you can be....

You won't care how much we know, until you know how much we care

Being allowed into someone's home is an honor, and is not something you bestow lightly.  In the spirit of developing trust, we would love for you to know some more about us - who we are, why we do what we do, etc.  We look forward to getting to know our clients as well, so in the spirit of openness and honesty, we're an open book here at THPHV!  Read on to get some history about how and why this company was founded as well as some insight into our doctor and staff.  And feel free to drop us a line if you have a question that has not been answered!!

Our primary mission at The Housepet Housevet is simple:  to help you feel good about the type of health care you are providing your pets.  They sure don't always make it easy for you, do they?!?

*-They can make messes, refuse to take their medicine....

*-They don't react to things the way the doctor said they would...

*-They may pee or poo (or express those smelly anal glands!) all over the place when you try to put them in the car to get them to the vet,

*-They sometimes snarl and bite people who are trying to help them....

*-They can hide from you when they hear the car keys, sometimes for hours, and then proceed to have bloody diarrhea for 4 days...

*-They just might decide they hate being anywhere NEAR the water when the vet tells you that swimming is good exercise...

*-They almost invariably turn their nose up at the special food you spent extra for, but only AFTER eating the free sample so well that you went ahead and bought the 40 lb bag....

....whew!  Being a good pet mommy or daddy....easier said than done, isn't it?  Sometimes it seems that the pets that need the most help are the most resistant to receiving it.

Especially  considering the television "experts," web sites, pet store employees, neighbors, friends, coworkers, and each veterinary clinic you've ever been to seem to be giving conflicting advice on what the "right thing" even is!! And all of THAT is not even considering the financial, emotional, physical, and time limitations life puts on us at the same time!

None of these things are your "fault", as a pet owner.  And you are not alone if you have let your pet "go without" their regular examinations, vaccinations, preventative medicines, etc. because you didn't know how to overcome these obstacles, or simply didn't know what the right thing to do was, given the circumstances.

Now we are here to help.

Each pet's situation is unique and carries with it special challenges.  The "Gold Standard" diagnostic test, or treatment, isn't always a realistic possibility.  Our goal when you allow us into your home is to LISTEN to your concerns, help guide you to a fuller understanding of your pet's health situation, advise and encourage you as you make difficult, but informed, decisions about what's best for you and your family.  When you love your pet and you are committed to doing what's best for them, with the proper support you simply cannot make a "wrong" decision.   There is only what is right for you and your companion, and our goal is to help you find your way to discovering and making peace with whatever that is.
